The E.F.C.C. – Kong Fok Church Torah is a complete late 19th century Torah from Eastern Europe. The Torah contains the first five books of the Bible. The scroll is no longer kosher for synagogue use. It was written on 54 panels of calf skins on 259 columns of writing by the same scribe. The project took about a year to complete. It was certainly used for many generations and survived the darkest chapter of history, the Holocaust. The scroll was brought by immigrants to Israel where it was sold to a large private collection in the 1990s. The Torah was then sold to a collector in the USA who is donating to E.F.C.C. –Kong Fok Church. The donor has made over 30 donations of Torahs to seminaries, universities and churches with the hope that the scrolls will inspire faculty and students and renew their appreciation for the Word.
